An ode to sensuality, touch, and the discreet power of interiors.
Métaphores and Nilufar join together once again to present In the Mood for Touch, an immersive installation at the heart of the Métaphores showroom in Paris.
The exhibition illustrates how the encounter between design and textiles can redefine the spatial experience. By combining Métaphores' refined materials with Nilufar Edition furniture, the installation highlights the transformative power of materials in creating an atmosphere, a mood, and a renewed relationship with interior space. It reflects a shared commitment to craftsmanship, personalization, and a contemporary language of living.
“This collaboration allows us to combine our textile expertise with Nilufar's curatorial vision. We have created an experience where each material speaks directly to the senses, combining emotion and design.”
— Émilie Paralitici, Creative and Image Director at Métaphores
“Paris has always held a special place in my heart. With In the Mood for Touch, I wanted to celebrate the refinement of French interiors while highlighting the exceptional delicacy and craftsmanship of home textiles.”
— Nina Yashar, Founder of Nilufar
Sumptuous velvets, sculptural jacquards, and iridescent silks envelop each object in a rich tactile language. The materials do more than just cover surfaces: they shape the identity of each piece, inviting a more intimate relationship between the visitor and the space.
The tour is structured around three areas, each defined by a unique color scheme and materials.
The first celebrates shades of green: curtains in Fever Châtaigne, Cendrillon Amande, and Verel de Belval Escale Étang, which make up a delicate palette that highlights furniture with clean, essential lines. The fabrics play with light: sparkle, reflection, or refraction allow the space to be structured.
The second is inspired by the Orient and explores deeper, warmer tones. Two Balloon armchairs in St Germain garnet velvet are framed by Kintsugi Laque curtains—an expression of Lyon's silk-making expertise.
The third returns to the theme of green, this time in an iridescent, aquatic tone: Bengal Scarabée and Cendrillon Vert d'Eau fabrics cast shimmering reflections around a round lacquered table, a green screen, and dining chairs that anchor the space in convivial elegance.
Beyond the exhibition, the Nilufar Edition furniture selection becomes a living proposition, which can be reinvented through a curated selection of Métaphores fabrics.
The exhibition is open until mid-January at the Showroom Métaphores, 5 Rue de Furstemberg in Paris.
