RUPTURE ARTS & BOOKS
Inaugurated on 25 November 2021, Rupture bookshop-gallery is nothing less than exceptional. This unique space offers guests a hand-picked selection of book-objects and artworks in a striking and refined décor, created in collaboration with Métaphores.
Alexandre Sap, its founder, gave carte blanche to Pierre Gonalons, designer and interior designer under the artistic direction of Barbara Soyer, to express his vision of an informal and refined boutique. Play, illusion, and wonderment all figure into the creative vocabulary he uses to create his own definition of luxury, bringing materials, forms, and colours into dialogue with the history of decorative arts.
The fabric covering the walls, specially developed by Métaphores in a harmony of pink, red and orange, draws us into an inviting haute-couture salon with a pop feel. A wide-width printed tricolour satin was selected to bypass manufacturing constraints and ensure a perfect look and fall.
The All-Around armchairs, designed by Pierre Gonalons for Italian editor Paradiso Terrestre, are upholstered with a moving forest-green floral fabric from Verel de Belval for the back and a deep black for the seat. Based on an 18th-century-inspired design from the Hermès textile archives, Jardin d’hiver shows the delightful lush plant life of fairy-tale gardens, is reversible, and offers delicate light effects.
Come discover this avant-garde boutique and the Métaphores textile creations in the heart of the Vertbois quarter of the Haut Marais:
